Why did TAPPI Develop the REP Program?
Since the early 1900's, manufacturers, vendors, and consumers alike have recognized TAPPI standards as reliable and unbiased since these standards were developed by industry stakeholders. These standards address testing procedures as well as product specifications, and are therefore vital to trade and commerce. As the challenges facing TAPPI members changed over the years and the importance of continuing education and training grew, it was only logical for TAPPI to step up and help address the industry's need to improve the quality and impact of continuing education and training.
The REP program has been created in response to feedback from industry manufacturers after 2 years of research, input from over 60 stakeholders in 7 countries, and several months of development.

The criteria were developed through a vetting process that incorporated input from over 60 stakeholders in 7 countries. In July 2003, development of the REP criteria was kicked off by a two day meeting of the REP Task Force, a diverse group of training professionals representing the many sectors of our industry: manufacturing, equipment/chemical suppliers, training companies, academia, and non-profit. You can't afford to be taking chances with your choice of training providers. Whenever you see the REP logo you can rely on that recognized provider for high quality, high impact training.
